It can be difficult to discuss this with people sometimes, and I consider myself a person with a relatively good degree of confront willing to talk about most subjects in a candid manner.  However, in the current market condition of real estate, especially with homes for sale in Bozeman and the surrounding area, talking about when to buy or sell a home can be tricky.

If I go to the end of the report here and give you the answer, you may have to put your thinking cap on and put some pencils to paper.  The answer about when to buy or sell a home always lies in the goals of the potential home Buyer or Seller.  Why would you, need to, or have to move?

Today’s real estate market is far different than the environement/market of my parents and grandparents.  My parents have lived in the same house for nearly three decades, and I still visit the house in Louisville where my grandmother has lived as long as I can remember.  Now, my family and I have moved no less than seven times over the past 12 years – and alas, we have planted roots and Bozeman is now home for us.

When you set your ideal scene out on paper, start marching towards it - as it is like setting a conditioning goal or business goal.  The action steps then follow right after the ideal scene is envisioned and set - and are most likely to have a positive effect.

Don’t sit and watch – engage your dreams!  Yes, buying or selling a home is a huge step and one that is best done with professional experience and coaching, as with a Realtor.  I have also seen people try to time the “perfect market” too, yet in the bigger scheme of things may not be as relavent as the ideal scene relative to you and/or your family.  Your home is your home, no matter what the macro real estate market is doing.

Get in the game and play, don’t watch!
