Big Sky PBR 2026: Your Weekend Guide to the Big Sky Rodeo

If you're planning a trip to Big Sky, Montana this July, you're timing it right. Big Sky PBR — voted PBR's Event of the Year for over a decade running — takes over the Big Sky Events Arena from Thursday, July 16 through Saturday, July 18, 2026, and it's the centerpiece of what locals call "Big Sky's Biggest Week." Whether you're a longtime rodeo fan or you've never seen a bull ride before, here's what to know before you go.

When Is Big Sky PBR 2026?

Big Sky PBR runs three nights:

  • Thursday, July 16 — evening performance

  • Friday, July 17 — gates open 5:30 PM, Calcutta at 6:30 PM, bull riding starts 7 PM

  • Saturday, July 18 — gates open 5:30 PM, Calcutta at 6:30 PM, bull riding starts 7 PM

Forty of the top touring bull riders compete for the Big Sky PBR Championship, riding some of the toughest bulls on the circuit. Join Us for an Office Party Before Friday's Rodeo

Before you head to the arena Friday night, swing by our Big Sky office to kick off the weekend with us. We're hosting an open house party at our shop:

223 Town Center Avenue, Suite A2, Big Sky, Montana Friday, July 17, 2026 at 4:00 PM

We'll have BBQ from Bar 3 in Belgrade, drinks, and good company right in the heart of Town Center — an easy walk from the arena before gates open at 5:30 PM. Come say hello, grab a plate, and get the inside scoop on the Big Sky market while you're in town for the rodeo.

Getting to the Arena

The Big Sky Events Arena sits at 450 Aspen Leaf Drive in Big Sky. Parking near the venue is limited, so plan ahead:

  • Carpool when you can — designated lots fill up fast.

  • Walking or biking from Town Center is a great option if you're staying nearby, and it's an easy stretch from our office if you join the party first.

  • Additional public parking can be found near Town Center, but arrive early.

Tickets are first-come, first-served bleacher seating, and the event runs rain or shine, so pack layers — Montana weather in July can swing from sunny afternoons to cool evenings.

More Than Bull Riding

Big Sky PBR is really a week-long celebration. Beyond the three nights of rodeo, the week typically includes a vendor village, community fundraisers, a golf tournament benefiting western sports athletes, and the Big Sky Community Rodeo that opens the week. Mutton bustin' for kids happens at intermission each night, and a Running of the Bulls trail race has become a popular addition for the more adventurous visitors.

Planning Your Trip

Big Sky PBR draws visitors from across the region, and lodging books up quickly during rodeo week. If you're thinking about more than just a weekend visit — whether that's a second home, an investment property, or a full-time move to the area — this is a great time to see Big Sky at its liveliest. Explore available homes in Big Sky to get a feel for the market while you're in town, or reach out to our Big Sky office if you'd like a tour while you're here for the rodeo.
