…good money for brokerage services – and with a good and professional Realtor, you’ll get more than you pay for.

This is a point of conversation for many savvy home sellers…as it should be.  It is not one a good Realtor will shy away from either.  While brokerage fees are not cast in stone (nor is it legal to do so), there are customary amounts/percentages a home seller pays for the services rendered from a broker. The hard part is delivering more than you expect - and that is what we expect of ourselves at Montana 406 and other professional Realtors.

There are clients who would happily pay more for what we do, if they only believed that in fact, our dealings would turn out to be a bargain and worth more than the cost.  One reason people “price shop” so hard is that they do not trust anything that costs more than the cheapest price is worth.

Bear this in mind as well – once a solid real estate professional delivers as much or more than you expect, he/she then must also pay others:

  • The brokerage firm split between the Realtor and their brokerage house
  • The brokerage firm representing the Buyer
  • All taxes – this is “before tax income”
  • All marketing costs
  • All insurances (legal and professional)…and more.  That 6-7% in brokerage fees can quickly diminish into 1-2% back into the hands of your hardworking professional.

The goal is always – “top market dollar, expedited quickly, and with little to no problems” – and in most instances, that is worth its weight in gold.

Beware of the discount deals too.  Too often in the race to charge less, people deliver too little and leave YOUR money on the table.  Likewise, in the race to charge more, they can often forget what it is that people want.  They want more…and better!
